Dr. Scott L. Kay
Dr. Scott Kay was born and raised outside of Philadelphia where he pursued his undergraduate and graduate education at the University of Pennsylvania. As an undergraduate at Penn he was Phi Beta Kappa and graduated Magna cum Laude. Dr. Kay then went to The University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine where he became interested in surgery, head and neck anatomy and plastic surgery. These interests guided him toward pursuing a residency in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. He was accepted to Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center however prior to that he completed two years of General Surgery Residency at Einstein Medical Center (in Philadelphia) and Mount Sinai Medical Center. From 1988 to 1992 he was a resident in Otolaryngology/ Head and Neck Surgery where he trained under some of the pioneers of the field. While at Columbia he did research with state of the art lasers which had been published in The Journal of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. After residency he was granted a position in a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. One of the strengths of the fellowship included facial nerve reanimation. During this year he also received additional training in Endoscopic Surgical techniques which focused primarily in sinus surgery. He became board certified in Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery in 1993 and during the same year he began his private practice in Princeton, New Jersey. He has been acclaimed for his participation in the Face to Face program where he provided pro bono care to victims of abuse. He has delivered presentations to Medical and Dental Staff of the University Medical Center at Princeton where he is an attending. He has been a speaker for the Acoustic Neuroma Association. Dr. Kay is also an adjunct professor at Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine where is an instructor for the medical residents of The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He has been named either “Top Doctor of the Metro Area” or “Top Doctor of New Jersey” every year for the past 7 years. He is currently in his 15th year of practice.
